News: Fry's vegan range now in Booths

Vegans in the Northwest welcome news of Booths supermarkets stocking the market-leading meat replacement brand. The range of Fry’s Family Foods products is available at half-price until May 20 as a special introductory promotion at Booths.

News: Frys frozen range now in Ocado

Your favourite vegan frozen food brand Fry’s Vegetarian is now available through online retailer Ocado. Following a bumper year of sales in the UK, Fry’s has succeeded in getting all 17 of their totally vegan range of products onto the shelves at Ocado. This is great news for vegans who now have a national supplier offering vegan frozen food at the click of a mouse.

Review: Fry's Hot Dog Sausages

Fry's Original Meat Free Hot Dogs

More vegan hot dogs, to show Granovita how it should be done. The Frys Family range of frozen vegan food is now rebranded and looking great. It's worth noting that VEGAN gets the top spot in the dietary claims on the front of the pack, without the need for the word 'vegetarian' to appear anywhere...  Consumers can now be assumed to know that 'vegan' covers both. These not-dogs come frozen, in packs of 8. How do they compare to the Redwood hot dogs we reviewed last week?

Review: Fry's Traditional Burgers

Fry's Family Meat-Free Traditional Burgers

The perfect burger for our earlier review of Violife vegan cheese.  Frys are the South African family firm that produce a fantastic range of frozen vegan foods. The packaging for their meat-free goodies has recently undergone a bit of re-branding and they do look a bit more sophisticated as a result. We haven't reviewed their burgers before, so we took the opportunity to do so along with the Violife cheese.

Campaign: Get Frys Stocked in Sainsbury's

Fat Gay Vegan has launched a campaign to get more vegan options stocked in UK supermarket chain Sainsbury's, and we're right behind him. The focus is on getting Frys vegan range offered in the freezer section instead of just Quorn, which contains animal products. Sainsbury's has fallen behind Tesco in catering to the growing Free From market, especially in their range of vegan food, but neither retailer stocks Frys great vegan selection.

The Frys range includes burgers, sausages, mince, schnitzels, and chicken style products, all of which are really great tasting. We'd love to see them stocked at our local Sainsbury's

You can back the campaign by signing the online petition over at FGV.

Vegan Olympic Breakfast for London 2012

The Vegan Olympic Breakfast

In honour of the start of the Olympics today, we thought we'd put together a vegan version of the famous British 'Olympic Breakfast'. Redwood Rashers, Fry's Sausages and The Vegg vegan egg yolk, together with hash browns, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes...and a good slick of Reggae Reggae sauce.

The Olympic Breakfast gets its name because it takes an Olympian effort to finish it...rather than being the sort of thing Jess Ennis starts the day with. We threw in 3 sausages, 3 rashers, 4 hash browns and a large dipping bowl of hot vegan egg yolk...fantastic stuff.

Ours is slightly healthier than the typical version...still a calorie blow-out...but fine once every 4 years...

Popcorn Lickin'. Review: Frys Vegan Pops

Review of Fry's Pops - vegan popcorn chicken

There's a place in every diet for a little junk food. We mean junk in the affectionate sense of fast and tasty...and not quite as healthy a quinoa salad. Fry's have a great range of vegan convenience foods but the one which will catch your eye in the freezer section is their vegan version of popcorn chicken....Fry's Pops. The cute and colourful little box holds 200g (8oz) of frozen breaded mini-nuggets. They even come with fruit chutney sprinkles. If you haven't already tried them...should you give them a go?
