Vegan Christmas: Plamil Dairy Free Chocolate Snowmen

Plamil Dairy Free Chocolate Snowmen

A bag of faux milk chocolate chunky snowmen from vegan producer Plamil. The company are getting better at presenting their products and this festive foil bag is quite appealing. Inside are small but chunky solid chocolates.

The trouble with packing these snowmen loose in a bag is that they get pretty bashed up by the time they reach the consumer. If these look strangely familiar characters though, have a look at Montezuma's snowmen which we reviewed last Christmas.

Unlike Montezuma's, these are not dark chocolate, but made with Plamil's version of rice-milk chocolate. Plamil's recipe for this chocolate produces a pretty hard and slightly bland result that doesn't melt in the mouth. We find the Choices recipe, with the softer, glossier chocolate to be more appealing. The milky sweet flavour does mean that these will appeal to kids, unlike the bitter dark chocolate we found with Montezuma's product.

If you like Plamil's rice milk chocolate recipe, these snowmen will be a handy treat to have around this Christmas.

The Good: Faux-milk chocolate is good for kids
The Bad: Slightly hard and bland
