Vegan Christmas: Montezuma's Chocolate Snowmen

Vegan Christmas: Montezuma's Chocolate Snowmen

Chunky Dark Chocolate Snowmen from Montezuma. These are clearly Christmas treats but we're not quite sure of their intended use... they're not wrapped or threaded...so they're not for hanging on the tree. They're too big for cake decorations too, so quite where they fit isn't clear. We thought we'd review them anyway to see if they should be on your last minute Christmas shopping list.

Dark chocolate comes in all sorts of varieties, from rich and bitter, to sweet and mild. If you don't know Montezuma's dark chocolate, it's on the strong and cocoa-rich end of the spectrum. If you prefer sweet and mild dark chocolate, this stuff may not be for you. We think it's a pity that Montezuma didn't tone down their chocolate a little for their Christmas treats, as the bitterness will limit the appeal and versatility of these snowmen.

These snowmen are not hollow...they're solid chocolate. They're pretty hard to take a bite of too unless your central heating means 'room temperature' is warmer than average.

Despite our fondness for Montezuma we can't really recommend these chocolates. They don't really have a purpose in your vegan Christmas menu and they're not special enough to splash out on for their own sake.

Verdict: Snow way man
