Why is it we only buy this stuff at Christmas? Maybe because it's only stocked at Christmas. This brand of Turkish Delight is currently on sale at Lakeland, as well as at discount supermarkets. Finding good Turkish Delight that's also vegan is difficult. Does this stuff make the grade?
The Hazer Baba product is genuinely Turkish. This box is 'Mixed Nuts', including the well known pistachio flavour, as well as hazelnut and almond. The image on the box suggests it will be packed with nuts...
We had to cut four pieces in half before we found a nut in our box. Even then, we never found more than two nuts in each of the quite large pieces. When you get a nut, especially a pistachio, the flavour is really good. Unfortunately most pieces are just big bland sugary blocks without a nut in sight.
Keep looking for good turkish delight...the good stuff is packed with pistachios. Be careful when looking for Turkish Delight with rose flavour though, as this often has cochineal in as a colouring.
Verdict: Full of Eastern promise... but not so full of nuts.

Most Turkish supermarkets (of which there are many in London) have about ten brands of genuine Turkish delight on offer and at least 3-4 of those will be vegan.
