Review: Black Soya Milk from Yon-Ho

Love weirding out your non-vegan friends? Offer them some black soya milk. We spotted this in a local chinese supermarket and were intrigued. It genuinely is made from black soybeans - there's no food colouring in there. The only version on offer was sweetened... very sweetened. How does it taste?

Black Soya Milk, soymilk

It tastes not too different from white soya milk. Chinese sweetened brands of soya milk often taste more beany that western brands, and this is the same. That sweetness, and the small serving size suggest this should be drunk straight from the bottle like a milkshake. It's not unpleasant, but we wouldn't go out of our way to buy it again...

This chap seems to be doing alright on it though.

Verdict: Anyone for a black soya latte?
