Vegan Easter: Moo Free's Caramelised Hazelnut Nib Egg

Moo Free - Caramelised Hazelnut Nib - Dairy-Free Chocolate Easter Egg

Dairy-free chocolate Easter egg with pieces of caramelised hazelnut embedded in the faux milk chocolate. This is new for 2014 as an Easter egg, although you can buy chocolate bars of this product all year round. We loved a caramel Easter egg last year, so does this one measure up?

Pence per gram, this is the most expensive easter egg we've ever seen. While the RRP from Moo Free is £4.25, we found it on sale at £5.49, which for 100g of chocolate is extortionate! It might be good, but it can't possibly be that good.

This is though, a wonderful easter egg. Whatever your thoughts on rice milk chocolate, any doubts can be set aside. The caramelised hazelnuts infuse the whole egg with a sweet toasted nuttiness that quite masks any subtle tastes in the chocolate. It's crunchy, sweet and delicious and frankly didn't last long on the testing table!

This is a child-friendly chocolate egg, in the way that dark chocolate eggs may not be. It's also one you can be sure won't raise any 'this is funny chocolate' type comments, whoever you give it to.

The Good: Sweet, nutty, chocolatey loveliness
The Not-so-good: That price...
