The Second Coming of Vegan Cheese & Onion Crisps. Since Barrow Boys went bust there hasn't been a source of vegan cheese and onion crisps, but Ten Acre have stepped into the void. They have produced a vegan-certified cheese and onion crisp to satisfy your cravings:

We'd been seeking out a supplier of these, when a pack arrived with the March Vegan Tuck Box... how very handy.
The crisps have a traditional cheese and onion flavour - you'd have no idea these were vegan unless you looked on the back. The crisps themselves are quite deeply cooked and have a bit of a crunch. They're also on the small side, but that could vary by pack.
Unlike with Barrow Boys, these crisps are free of MSG, and also free of wheat flour, for those seeking to avoid gluten. The ingredients look pretty natural, with nutritional yeast providing the cheesiness.
Enjoyable cheese and onion crisps are now back on the vegan menu.

I don't understand why vegan cheese crisps are not really a thing. There's a lot of vegan cheeses, so why the hell not crisps?! I miss cheese and onion crisps way more than I ever miss cheese.
ReplyDeleteYou mean just cheese, no onion, like wotsits? Vegan wotsits would be good... didn't they taste like nutritional yeast anyway?
DeleteTrouble is I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them. Vegan tuck shop has TWO packets (not worth the postage cost).
ReplyDeleteGet the impression these things are being produced at like a bag a month or something. Hopeless:(
The Ten Acre Vegan cheese and onion crisps are a tempting snack that you cannot let go after having a bite. It has the right cheesy and onion flavor that I have missed so far. If you love cheese and onion flavour like me, then you cannot stay away from these ten acre crisps.
ReplyDeleteThey are too greasy leaves your hands greasy and spoils the flavour
