VegFest London: Day Two

Yep #vegfestlondon day 2 begins by beating the queue at The Mighty Fork hot dog stall. If yesterday is anything to go by, they'll sell out by early afternoon. The queue at their stall is already snaking, 5 minutes after the doors opened..

We went for the massive Big Chili hot dog in which the wiener is topped with veggie chilli (with soy mince), chillies and mustard. Mmm.

This guy also sold out yesterday, despite having crates stacked high of his vegan cream cakes. The temptation was just too much (again...)

On a slightly more refined note, but just as indulgent we returned to Cat and the Cream to check out the cheesecakes. The raspberry one was really good.

Video / Music from The Phoenix Rose. A couple of songs live from the performance stage.

Another track, this time from the fantastic Sara Melson, who is over from the US. She says her songs are mellow but her voice is really powerful:

Comedy from the hilarious TV comic Lucy Porter. Lucy was really popular with the crowd, who went wild for her gags about being short and turning forty.

Wills Vegan Shoes with their new winter collection of non-leather shoes

This spectacular (gothic?) wedding cake caught our eye. There was another one with a corpse bride and groom too.

Can you even tell what this is below? There was a stall selling exotic mushrooms grown on all sorts of things, including this bale of straw.

  1. I missed out on the Mighty Fork hot dogs unfortunately but those doughnuts were AMAZING!! I ran to that stall first thing when I arrived! Thanks for posting about it yesterday!

    1. The doughnuts and eclairs were as good as they looked weren't they. They were definitely too big though!

The Mighty Fork use Taifun wieners fried slowly on that hot plate if you're looking to recreate the experience at home. What you can't recreate is the secret sauce (literally) or the love and enthusiasm that goes into each hot dog...
