Review: Viana Picknicker Veggie Snack

Viana Picknicker Veggie Snack

Vegan meaty sausage snack, sort of a vegan pepperami. These are similar to Topas Space Bars - they're both meaty finger snacks, offering a flesh-free meaty hit while away from home:

We think if you were actually picnicking you'd probably take some ready cooked sausages, such as Redwood's cocktail sausages. This is more the sort of thing you'd pack in your rucksack for replenishment while on a walk.

We like the fact this Picknicker combines tofu and gluten, which balances both the flavour and texture - it's not too chewy and the gluten taste isn't overpowering. There's just a tiny bit of spice in the flavour, but nothing too much. This makes a good pick-me-up if you're on the go.

One thing to be warned about is the yellow colour can get on your clothes if you're not careful. The inside of the pack is quite oily.

Verdict: Sausage a-go-go
