Kosher Haul: Vegan Goodies from Vx

A selection from our recent trip to Vegan Cross from kosher producer Paskesz. Trios sandwich cookies, Mint Creme cookies and chocolate covered Nutty Chews. The Trios are clearly Oreo inspired and the Mint Creme cookies are almost exactly like Viscount biscuits in the UK. The Nutty Chews are harder to define.... sort of chewy peanut brittle with a chocolate coating:

We've never eaten Oreos so we've no idea how faithful these taste, but they're a lot like similar biscuits available in the UK. Kind of like a creamier version of a bourbon biscuit... a slightly more luxurious and more chocolatey offering. We'd buy these again but we wouldn't make a special trip for them.

Viscount biscuits are a bit a of a childhood staple in the UK and these bring back very fond memories. The chocolatey coating is really mild, sweet and very milky...despite the obvious lack of dairy. The biscuit is crisp and crunchy and the mint creme just minty enough to bring the whole together. We definitely would go out of our way to buy these again... they're really great.

We had high expectations of these being like mini snickers bars. Maybe the cold weather here at Christmas means they're firmer than they would be normally, but the Nutty Chews are almost Nutty Crunches. They're not quite peanut brittle, but they're almost there at first bite...only yielding a little once you start chewing. The taste is great... peanut, caramel and chocolate are a classic combo after all. We'd like to try these again the in the summertime...
