Vegan Christmas: Love Hearts Jumbo Pack

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Eleven. Yes 11 mini packs of Love Hearts in a big tube. How better to show your vegan love at Christmas? Love Hearts weren't always vegan, but since the gelatin and cochineal were removed they are now. To celebrate why not pop down to Lidl and grab some as a great stocking filler:

The mini packets inside the tube are cute snack size packets. They're about half the size of a regular pack. The sweets within are the same size as normal though, along with the cheeky little messages on them. The little packets probably only need a tube half the size of the one they come in... although the air does keep them intact.

If you haven't eaten Love Hearts since you were little, or never have, they're quite sharp and fizzy. They're crunchy little sugar tablets that fizz in the mouth. There are various flavours but we couldn't tell you what they are...though lemon and other tangy flavours is the name of the game.

Jumbo packs of Love Hearts are a perfect stocking filler for that special vegan friend.

Verdict: Big Love

  1. Hi Veganoo
Used to love Love Hearts but how do you know that the ingredients listed such as magnesium stearate and stearic acid don't come from animals (at least in those cases a common source is cows I believe)?

  2. They're labelled as vegetarian so the stearates are not from animal fat. Oh...and VIVA sell them in their online vegan shop... but we got ours from Lidl
