Part of our WMVF hoard was a tub of Daisys vegan marshmallows in Coconut & Malibu flavour. That flavour description was all we needed to hand over our cash and squirrel these away for review. Daisys is an artisan producer of gelatine-free marshmallows run by Lynda Marshall who sells the marshmallows to raise funds for animal rescue:
The texture of these is fantastic - firm but squishy and soft to the bite. The first ingredient is carrageenan and that told us that these would probably toast well...so we popped them on a skewer and melted them over a flame. The results were really good - probably the best vegan marshmallows we've tried to melt.
The great texture and sweet toasted meltability of these marshmallows makes up for the weak coconut flavour and we can certainly recommend Daisys as source of top notch vegan marshmallows.

I have not had 'shmallows in... over 20 years (!) Have you tried any of their other flavours?
ReplyDeleteNot yet but we'll certainly seek them out. We reckon these would be great in vegan rocky road!
