Liveblog: West Midlands Vegan Festival

WMVF West Midlands Vegan Festival 2012 - Wolves Civic

The sun always shines on vegan festivals this year and #WMVF is no exception. The atmosphere here in Wolverhampton is great, and that's just the queue to get in! We're outside the beautiful Wolves Civic building which is glistening in the autumn sunshine.

The queue to get in eventually reached right down the street:

The festival was opened by raw vegan chef Rebecca Kane...

who was then given a large box of deep-fried crisps to hand out!

It makes us happy though as they are Barrow Boys vegan cheese and onion crisps...which were promptly polished off...and delicious they were too!

Ms Cupcake are here and we've just tried their vegan rocky road which is phenomenally good!

Man this place is rammed...almost impossible to move round... Have a look at our panorama photo of the main hall taken from the stage:

We've just spotted FGV helping out on the Ms Cupcake stall. Nice Apron:

The results of the UK Vegan Awards 2012 have just been announced. Highlights include Vegusto winning best vegan cheese and Frys winning best vegan meats. Winner of best supermarket catering to vegans went to Sainsburys. Here's Dominic Berry announcing the winners with great ceremony:

The queue for Ms Cupcake's wares was several deep at times and they sold out by mid-afternoon:

We don't have any coverage of the after-party as the battery life on our equipment isn't up to the job of all day and all night coverage, but the show was still busy at closing time so there were plenty of people to head off to the City Bar.

Our next festival is the Autumn Vegan Festival in Leicester on November 17th.
