Review: Yu Fruit Chews

100% fruit based snacks, high in fibre with no added sugar. Now in new shapes and packs. If you're looking to wean yourself off jelly sweets in favour of something less sugary, these fruit chews could help. They're basically dried fruit made to look like sweeties.

The chews now come in new shapes and flavours. The company sent us a selection to review, including strawberry hearts, mango stars and blueberry chews. If you've eaten those 'fruit leathers' before, you'll find these quite similar, but in a more practical format. They're sweet, fruity and chewy...as you'd expect!

The little packs, and the colours and shapes will appeal to kids, and it's a good way to introduce them to fruit, certainly as an alternative to sugary sweets. As with fruit juices though, they should be eaten in moderation.

If you're a big kid, these chews could make a handy mid-morning snack, or even an energy snack for your morning run.

The Good: Snacks without the added sugar
The Not-so-good: No colourings mean they look a little drab
