Chocolate covered cereal/fruit bars in Orange, Blueberry, Oat, and Double Chocolate flavours. Frank Honest Snacking says the strap line. These aren't cereal bars in the traditional sense, but are similar to Nakd bars, made from blended fruit and cereal. They have a lovely thick dairy-free chocolate topping:
There's also a Strawberry flavour bar that we couldn't find in our local stockist. The four flavours we tested look pretty identical once out of their packets, except for the aroma from the Orange and Blueberry bars. FRANK bars are gluten, nut, and dairy free and are a source of protein, with each bar containing almost 4g of protein per 35g bar. The also contain a special carbohydrate blend for energy.
Texture wise, the bars are pretty identical, with a fine blended mix of oats and fruit. This lends them quite a truffly texture... at least at first. The more you chew, the more you'll notice a slight grittiness. The chocolate topping is made milky with coconut cream, and this is one of the best aspects of these bars.
Of the four flavours we tried, the Double Chocolate was the best, followed by the Oat. We found the Blueberry and Orange bars a bit odd, but if you're a fan of chocolate with strong fruity flavours, you might like them.
Verdict: Frankly My Dear... they're just OK
