Review: Tesco Finest Peruvian Chocolate with Coconut

Tesco Finest Peruvian 60% Plain Chocolate with Coconut

A chocolate bar with coconut, but not a Bounty bar by any comparison. This is 60% dark chocolate made with single origin Criollo and Trinitario beans, with coconut flakes blended into the chocolate. Ten skinny pieces of chocolate in an immaculate looking slab of Tesco's finest.

Vegan / Dairy-Free 60% Plain Chocolate with Coconut

This bar was in perfect condition, without a blemish and with a lovely sheen. This is partly down to being well packaged, but you can't argue that it's not been well crafted too.

The coconut flakes don't show through on the face of the bar, nor even the back, but they're distributed through the chocolate rather than layered. Despite the 8% coconut content, we struggled to taste it. The texture is definitely there, like desiccated coconut, but the flavour is a little too subtle. The chocolate is excellent stuff though, so we'd still suggest you give this a try if you like plain chocolate.

Verdict: Deepest Darkest Peruvian
