Vegan after-dinner mint chocolate thins. Alternatives to Nestlé's After Eights are plentiful and many are dairy-free too, but few are actually thin. We were surprised to find these budget mint thins from Aldi are one of the best options around....being both thin, and great tasting too:
It's true they're not quite as thin and delicate as the Nestlé version, but then Aldi don't market formula milk irresponsibly so After Eights are not an option. Besides, After Eights now contain milk fat so are no longer dairy-free.
The Choceur mint thins are really pretty good, with a smooth pepperminty fondant and a crisp chocolate shell. The shape is perfect for taking a couple of bites without getting fondant all over your fingers too.
We're hopeful that these will stay dairy-free long enough to add to our Christmas shopping list, as they are the best mint thins we've tried.
Verdict: Maestro mints

Walkers dark choc after dinner mint chocs are also vegan :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. The Walkers ones are not quite as thin and delicate as these though.
