Free From: Vegan Creme Caramel pots from Tesco

Tesco Free From Vegan Creme Caramel Desserts

The Free From sections of the big supermarkets are getting better for vegans. Tesco has recently added several non-dairy options that are vegan friendly including these Creme Caramel desserts. Sold in packs of four individual pots and clearly labelled as vegan, they promise a new easy dessert option...but do they deliver?

The 100g pots have caramel sauce in the bottom with a thick set soya custard on top. You can turn these creme caramels out onto a plate...with a little effort....but it's hard not to mash it as it comes out, so you might be best to eat it from the pot. The caramel is of the runny type rather than the set type and you have to dig deep in the pot to get at it, but once you do you get a lovely sweet caramel hit. The custard or 'creme' is also really good....set firm but deliciously creamy.

These creme caramels are a great addition to the vegan dessert options available at Tesco and let's hope it's a sign of more good things to come.

Verdict: Creme de la creme

  1. I absolutely love the vegan crème caramel from Tesco. Unfortunately, I don't live in the UK and would like to know who the manufacturer of this product is, so that I can check if there is a shop that sells them in my country. I know many vegan brands, but haven't seen these crème caramel except for at Tesco so far.
