Five packs of soya shakes from Tesco? What's the vegan-friendly world coming to?...we're not sure, but we like it. The latest addition to the Free From aisle at the UK's biggest supermarket shows how far dairy-free alternatives have come lately...forget niche markets...we're into the multi-buy age. These 5 packs of shakes are cute little 65ml tetrapaks...more of a shot than a drink, in fact they're labelled as "dessert shakes". How do they taste?
Not bad, not bad at all. The only flavour on offer is chocolate which is fine by us. The shakes are really thick, and taste very similar to Alpro soya desserts...not quite as thick as the Alpro desserts...you have to drink these through the straw of course. The shakes have a good strong chocolate flavour and just enough sweetness for the indulgence factor.
We poured one out into a glass to have a good look - pictured above beside the pack so you can see how much you get inside. It's not the size that matters though...these are great little chocolate shakes and we're really glad to have seen them arrive on the shelves at Tesco.
Verdict: Shakin' all over!
