Butter me up? Review: Cleo's Peanut Butter Cups

Cleos Peanut Butter Cups

Peanut butter is one of those 'marmite' foods....either you love it or hate it. For peanut butter lovers (like us), what could be better than a shot of the stuff covered in chocolate? Two of course...in a handy pack...

Cleo's are the vegan version of those all-american favourites Reese's (made by Hersheys) and are available in the UK as well as stateside. They're made by Go Max Go who produce vegan friendly bars similar to Mars, Snickers and others.

Inside the faux-milk chocolate shell is a filling of smooth sweet peanut butter. The chocolate is the usual rice-milk stuff, but we're not sure it's needed here....dark chocolate would have given a more chocolately taste and would have paired better with the peanut butter. They're nice enough all said, but we do wonder what role these cups fill....snack or treat? Are peanut lovers better off with the Snickers-alike bar instead?

Choices, choices...it's getting better to be vegan...

Verdict: One-two punch for peanut butter lovers
