A weird peanut praline with cinder toffee and chocolate concoction. That's the review done then. Oh you want more?
Americans have strange tastes in confectionery, or it sometimes seems that way. The 'butterfinger' which this bar emulates seems to be popular over there, but if it's much like this, we're not sure why. That's not to say it tastes bad...we just can't see the attraction...
The centre of this bar is a hard praline made with peanuts. This tastes like peanut brittle and is almost as tooth-breaking. The praline is then surrounded by cinder toffee, which is quite salty from the bicarb, and equally as hard as the middle. The whole thing is then covered in faux milk chocolate.
It all tastes OK...but we just don't get it.
We wouldn't buy these again, but we're big fans of the rest of the Go Max Go range. Maybe the Americans are good at chocolate after all.
Verdict: Thumbs neither up nor down.

ReplyDeleteI actually really love these! But then I love crunchy, chewy caramelly things, so this is right up my street ^^
