A vegan soft cheese made from cultured quinoa milk. The step-by-step guide to making quinoa qurd is now available at our sister site plantfoods.org
Quinoa qurd is made by culturing quinoa milk to make yoghurt, which is then strained and pressed to make a soft cheese. You can also make qurd from soya and other plant milks.
The qurd has a strong quinoa flavour so we made ours into a herby soft cheese with lots of chopped chives and some dill. It also needs a good seasoning with salt and pepper.
Added to a baked potato it's quite palatable. Quinoa qurd is really smooth and creamy and this is without added fat. Low fat creamy vegan cheese made almost entirely from quinoa...try it for yourself.
