Review: Badger's Dairy & Egg Free Coleslaw

Packaged vegan coleslaw with egg-free mayo from independent producer Badger's. The company has been going for a couple of years, making vegan versions of coleslaw, potato salad and egg mayonnaise. We tried all three at the Lincoln Vegan Festival this week, but the coleslaw was our favourite of the three:

UK Review: Vegenaise Mayo

Another US import that arrived with a buzz this year. Follow Your Heart's egg-free mayo is labelled 'Better than Mayo'. The range available in the UK includes plain, organic, soya-free and grapeseed oil varieties. The standard and organic versions are soya based, combining soybean oil with soy protein. Their Really Not Dairy range includes yoghurt-style desserts and this range of mayo alternatives. The mayo comes in Original, Chipotle and Roasted Garlic flavours. Taste Test: Best Egg-Free Mayo

Tiger Tiger, Granovita or Solesse - best squeezy vegan mayo? We know you like a good Taste Test and we noticed there were at least three brands of squeezy egg-free mayo on the market in the UK. We gathered up the three and sampled them side by side to see which was best. Move over Hellmans, the Egg Free cavalry has arrived:

Vegan Version: Yuba Mayo (Tuna Mayo)

The Veganizer in action: fish-free but flaky, oily, meaty and delicious. If you've ever bought one of those cans of tinned yuba (soybean skins) and looked at the recipe on the back, you might have tried this before. Salad Cream...the salad dressing of 1970s Britain....and now vegans can reminisce too. Salad cream is different to mayo...thinner, sweeter and more tangy. Granovita produce both a vegan mayo and a vegan salad cream for the UK market. We grabbed a squeezy bottle of the Salad Cream for our review....but will it take you back to your salad days?
