Review: Sojade Seitan Roulade

Sojade rolled seitan with spinach roulade

Four slices of rolled seitan with spinach. Sojade's yoghurts are popular in the UK, but it's harder to find their meat-free range. We found this seitan roulade in an independent health food shop:

The slices are like small burgers, and you might serve one or two per person depending on the size of your appetite. They're actually quite filling, as seitan (gluten) is pretty dense, and so is the spinach and vegetable filling.

The slices take less than 5 minutes in a pan to crisp up and brown. The seitan is firm and chewy, but that's offset by being in small chunks once you cut the roulade up. The spinach is tasty and goes well with the seitan.

It's great to find more natural style meat-free products like this, without having to spend hours making your own. The roulade makes a very presentable dish too.

The Good: Meaty, tasty, quick to cook
The Not-so-good: Quite chewy... if you don't like that sort of thing
