Review: Rhythm Health Kefir Drinks

Cultured coconut milk shots to top up your friendly bacteria. Three delicious flavours - Mango & Passionfruit, Coconut & Pomegranate and Pure Coconut. We couldn't get hold of the Pomegranate one, but picked up the other two. Vegan kefir is still a rarity and we were keen to give these a try:

These bottle are single portion size, and the company suggests two to three bottles a week will keep your gut topped up. Larger bottles are also available, but are pricey.

Healthy or not, these drinks are absolutely delicious. The Pure Coconut one tastes really just like coconut milk but with a slight yoghurty freshness to it. The Mango & Passionfruit drink tastes somewhere between a smoothie and a fruit juice, and the mango dominates, with barely a hint of coconut. We loved them both.

Just how do you say Kefir?...

The company suggests you pronounce Kefir as KEE-fer, which is how the Americans say it, but we prefer the British keh-FEER.

Round Up

We love Rhythm Health products, for their great taste, rawness and no-added-sugarness. These are apparently the only kefir drinks on the market with no added sugar. Kefir has a more diverse lactic acid bacterial profile than standard yoghurt cultures too. Give them a try with your breakfast.

We bought ours from Natural Food Co in Nottingham, but they also sell them at some branches of Holland & Barrett. You can find the full stockist list over at Rhythm Health's website:
